Sleep is important for various aspects of our brain function this is includes cognition, concentration, productivity and performance. Getting enough sleep also keeps your immune system strong. Studies have shown those getting 7-8 hours sleep a night are at less risk of getting heart disease or a stroke. Poor sleep habits are also strongly linked to adverse effects on blood sugar in the general population. Those sleeping less than six hours per night have repeatedly been shown to be at an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Poor sleep is also linked to depression and reduces your ability to interact socially.
