Kim is one of our lovely clients who reached out to us during a difficult time with her health. She wanted help getting herself back on the road with her fitness but needed support in how to do this. We caught up with her to find out about how our KBPT trainer helped her to do this and what she has planned next on her fitness journey.
Hi Kim, it’s lovely to speak to you today and thank you for agreeing to share your story with our followers.
That’s totally fine with me. Hi, I’m Kim. I’m 40 years old and I work as the director of a teaching company
When you contacted us, you were particularly interested in our specialism in cancer recovery, tell us how you found out about this?
It was through a simple Google search I did and thought KBPT looked like a very professional company. I got in contact with Kate earlier this year and signed up for some personal training sessions.
We are so happy we could help support you. What has been your biggest achievement so far?
Before I started personal training with Kate, I felt really negative about my overall fitness and I didn’t know how or where to start back on the road to regain my fitness. I thought that this would kickstart me again, so I bought the ten block of sessions with the goal of getting myself back in the gym again.
Kate has been great, she built up each session in intensity, making sure they were challenging but always manageable. Training with Kate has been a really positive experience for me. I believe people are brought into your life for a reason and I definitely needed this positive experience after everything I have been through.
Well, it’s been 10 sessions – did you achieve your goal to get back in the gym again?
The experience has really empowered me and changed my mindset; I feel much more positive about exercise. It gave me the confidence to step back into the gym again and initially I was doing my own routines at my own pace. When I was ready to go to a 30-minute class, I was really pleased with how fit I had got compared to other people in the class. I got a real buzz from it which has motivated me even more to keep going.
Fantastic Kim, we are pumped that you are feeling so good about yourself again. It’s sounds like it’s been a really positive and powerful experience for you. What is next for your health and fitness goals?
KBPT was always going to be a bridge back to exercise and they provided me with that in just ten sessions. I want to keep the level of fitness I have now and work on raising it. My plan is to get back to running and feel as fit as I did before my cancer journey. I will be taking away from this experience the lesson of prioritising myself and planning my exercise in advance, so work/life doesn’t take over.
That sounds like some great tangible learning to add into your life going forward. It is so important to ensure we have a balance in our lives and look after out health.
