What is a kettlebell?

A kettlebell is a cast iron or steel ball with a U-shaped handle at the top, which can be used to perform many types of exercise.

Why do you recommend kettlebell training at KBPT?

Our personal trainers often do kettlebell training with our clients as it’s functional exercise at its best – it trains your whole body, getting almost every muscle group working together. Here are some other reasons we like to use these free weights in our personal training sessions:

  • Many kettlebell exercises are dynamic – that means doing fast lifts that raise your heart rate and get you sweating
  • They can be used at home, outside or in a gympod
  • Kettlebells are great for increasing core strength, cardio endurance and power
  • As they come in a range of weights, they can be used for both beginner and advanced workouts
  • You’ll burn calories during and after your session
  • Kettlebells increase stability through instability by teaching your body to deal with your centre of gravity being off
