Haggerston Park is one of my favourite Parks in East London. The park was originally created in the 1950’s and extended in the 1980’s. It was carved out of an area of derelict housing, a tile manufacturer and the old Shoreditch gasworks which had been hit by a a V-2 rocket in 1944 and badly damaged. I love this video on the history of Haggerston Park – have a look on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_usTOOD85dE
Haggerston park is great for personal training as it tends to be one of the quieter parks, it also has bars so great for hanging a TRX or practising pull ups!
Haggerston park is a very well cared for park and is kept very nicely all year round by the park keepers.
There is numerous football pitches in the park and lots of local teams that play there.
There is also numerous tennis courts in Haggerston Park they are excellent, some of the best facilities in London. The venue has free parking and changing facilities – if you go to www.mylocalpitch.com to book.
Netball is another game you can play in Haggerston Park, the court is outdoor and well maintained – use the above link to book.
Once you have finished doing your sports you can pop across to Hackney City Farm where you go to their cafe for a bite to eat or drink.
