Spring Goals

Spring starts on the 21st March. Spring is my favourite season of the year. Time to put your winter coat, scarf and gloves away. The days are getting lighter for longer, the trees are blossoming and the daffodils are out. Spring is the perfect time of year to refresh your goals and think what you would like to achieve fitness wise in your lead up to the summer.

  • Maybe it’s a race, there is lots of races be it a 5k, longer running race, cycle race or triathlon in spring.
  • Are you feeling confident to pop your summer shorts on or have you got a bit of work to do in preparation for the summer? It is great to write down you goals and how you are going to achieve them. Remember not to compare yourself to anyone else, you are on your own journey.
  • Do you need to tidy up your nutrition after eating winter comfort foods? Writing a food diary or using an app like my fitness pal can help with this.
  • Sometimes in spring it is nice to get some fresh workouts going, add in some different kit, mix things up rather than doing the same routines that aren’t getting you such great results any more.
  • The weather is improving so why not switch to doing some training outside, you can get some fresh air and hopefully sunshine while you workout.
  • Have you got a niggling injury that you need to get sorted. Maybe a goal is not to work round it and to rehab it back to full working order.

Whatever your goals are for spring write them down. You have 3 months in spring before we hit summer. A lot can be done in 3 months.
