Since joining KBPT in 2016, Rose, a busy barrister and mother of two, has found that working with her trainers has provided more than just fitness. It’s given her a way to stay mentally balanced, energised, and strong through major life events like her wedding, two pregnancies, and a hectic career. With KBPT, she’s not only achieved her fitness goals but found a way to make time for herself amidst all the chaos. Whether it’s training in the park or in the Gympods, Rose keeps coming back for more because she loves feeling strong, capable, and ready for anything life throws her way.
When did you start training, and how did you find KBPT?
I started with KBPT back in 2016—so it’s been around eight years now! I actually found them through a quick Google search. I was looking for a personal trainer in my area, and KBPT came up. The rest is history!
What were your main goals when you first started personal training?
At the start, my main goal was simple—I just wanted to exercise regularly and tone up. I hadn’t been consistent with fitness, so I really wanted to build a routine.
How have your goals changed since then?
Oh, they’ve changed a lot over the years! First, I had the goal of getting ‘wedding fit.’ KBPT really helped me feel amazing on my wedding day, and I loved how I looked in my photos. After that, I got pregnant and started doing prenatal training. Then came the postnatal recovery after my C-section. Two years later, I was pregnant again, but this time, it was after the pandemic. Most of my training was online, and it became such an important part of maintaining my mental health during that strange, stressful time. After my second C-section recovery, my current goal is to be really fit and strong. I’m proud to say I can do banded chin-ups now, and my big goal is to be in that top 1% of women who can do a pull-up!
How does personal training make you feel?
Honestly, PT is the one thing I do just for me each week. It makes me feel great—energised and mentally balanced. It’s a fantastic stress reliever, especially with my demanding job. I always leave my sessions feeling refreshed.
What motivates you to keep training?
I’m pretty competitive with myself, so I love setting new challenges and working towards them. At the moment, I’m really enjoying training in the Gympods and focusing on feeling strong. Plus, it’s just so much fun!
What has been your biggest achievement while training with KBPT?
My biggest achievement has to be sticking with it. I’ve managed to keep training consistently through two pregnancies, C-section recoveries, a pandemic, and a crazy-busy career. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m still seeing improvements!
What do you like about your KBPT trainers, Elena and Lauren?
What’s not to like about them?! They’re both absolutely top-notch. They’re really responsive to what I need—whether it’s adapting a session last-minute or working around my schedule. They’ve come to my house when needed, and if I need to bring the kids to the park during a session, they’re totally cool with that. I’ve had other KBPT trainers step in when Elena or Lauren couldn’t make it, and every single one has been great. I’ve never had a bad experience.
What do you enjoy about training outside in the park?
Training in the park is just lovely. Being surrounded by trees and nature is such a nice way to break up my week. It’s like a breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively, and it’s great to carve out some outdoor time, especially when work gets hectic.
What do you like about training in the Gympods?
I love the Gympods! It’s so nice to have a private space with a full range of equipment. Plus, they’re always clean and have great facilities. I can even squeeze in some emails or take a quick shower if I need to. It’s just a really convenient and comfortable way to train.
Rose’s story is a perfect example of how working with KBPT can make a huge difference in how you approach fitness and well-being, especially during life’s big transitions. From wedding prep to post-baby recovery and everything in between, she’s stayed consistent, challenged herself, and achieved incredible things. Whether it’s enjoying the fresh air in Victoria Park or getting strong in the Gympods, Rose proves that with the right support and a bit of determination, you can stay fit, strong, and energised no matter what life brings your way.
