Three top tips and benefits of Kettlebells for Beginners

Pick the right kettlebell. Do not try and use a kettlebell that is too heavy or you will cause yourself injury. Also don’t be too easy on yourself with one that is too light! You may need to use a couple of kettlebells, one for the arms, one for the legs – try before you buy.

Go to a professional to learn the basics. Kettlebells can cause injury if not used correctly. Book a session with a personal trainer or book into a kettlebell class so you can ensure you have your technique correct before you start doing yourself.

Avoid plastic coated kettlebells. These can get very slippery as your hands sweat and they generally have really annoying seams. Also the plastic handles never seem to be round, they tend to be oval which causes problems as it rotates through the hand.

Kettlebells increase strength and cardiovascular fitness. They are also amazing for flexibility and core strength. They are compact and are a portable device so it means you can workout with them at home, in the park or at the gym. Kettlebell workouts can be varied which keeps working out fun and enjoyable rather than doing the same thing over and over again. Kettlebells help build a lean, muscular physique so you don’t bulk up.
